Three services. One steady practice.
Baka Legal offers will drafting, estate administration, and family estate guidance — each handled with the same patience and transparency.
Back to HomeHow we work through every matter
Every service at Baka Legal follows the same measured approach. We begin by listening — not by presenting options — because the right path depends on your family's specific circumstances.
Before any work begins, we share a written summary of what is involved and what it will cost. We do not proceed until you are comfortable. Throughout the matter, one named contact keeps you updated at each stage in plain terms.
For estates involving faraah distribution, we follow the appropriate procedures under the Syariah framework where required, while for civil estates we work through the Melaka courts and amanah raya processes as applicable.
Initial conversation
We listen to your situation without rushing. No fees are discussed until we understand what you need.
Written scope and estimate
We outline the work involved and provide a written fee estimate before any chargeable step begins.
Steady handling of your matter
We manage correspondence, documentation, and any third-party processes on your behalf, keeping you informed at each stage.
Clear completion
At conclusion, we explain what has been done, what documents you hold, and any steps that remain with you going forward.
Will Drafting
Starting from RM 195
Careful preparation of a will in clear, considered terms that reflect your wishes. We take time to understand your family's circumstances and explain each clause before you sign anything. There is no obligation to proceed at once after an initial discussion.
A will sets out how your assets should pass to beneficiaries on your death. Without one, your estate is distributed according to the Distribution Act 1958 (for non-Muslims) or faraah principles — which may not reflect your wishes.
- Plain-language drafting reviewed with you in person
- Guidance on witnesses and proper execution
- Consideration of civil and/or faraah distribution preferences
- Advice on choosing appropriate executors
- Copies and storage guidance provided
Typical timeframe: 1–2 weeks from first consultation to signed document

- Probate applications and High Court representation where needed
- Letters of administration for estates without a will
- Liaison with financial institutions to gather and transfer assets
- Property transfers and land registry coordination
- Regular progress updates throughout the administration
Typical timeframe: 3–12 months depending on estate complexity

Family Estate Guidance
Starting from RM 405
Considerate advice for families arranging or dividing an estate, seeking fair and workable outcomes. We aim to ease tension rather than add to it, and keep explanations plain throughout. A patient service handled with sensitivity to the circumstances each family faces.
This service is designed for situations where families need legal guidance on how an estate should be divided — whether under civil law or faraah principles — and where multiple beneficiaries may be involved.
- Explanation of entitlements under civil law or faraah
- Neutral facilitation for multi-beneficiary discussions
- Family meeting support at our Melaka office
- Documentation of agreed distribution arrangements
- Coordination with faraah authorities if required
Typical timeframe: 2–6 weeks depending on family circumstances
