"My husband passed away without a will. I had no idea how to proceed and three children to think about. Encik Farid explained everything without making me feel like I was wasting his time. The whole administration took about eight months and he kept me updated throughout. I would not have managed it alone."

Alor Gajah, Melaka
"I came to draft a will for myself and my wife. The process took about two weeks from the first meeting to signing. What I appreciated was that they explained why each clause was worded the way it was, not just what it said. The fee was as quoted — no additions."

"My three siblings and I could not agree on how to divide our parents' estate. Tensions were running quite high. Baka Legal held a session at their office where they explained faraah entitlements calmly and without taking sides. That one meeting changed the mood entirely. We reached an agreement within a month."

"I needed a will drafted but had quite specific ideas about how I wanted things handled. They were patient with my questions and willing to make adjustments until I was satisfied. The only thing I'd say is that email responses can sometimes take a day — but they always did come, and the quality of advice was sound."

"Mother left property in two different districts and none of us knew how to start. Baka Legal handled the estate administration and coordinated with the land registry directly. What surprised me was how little I had to worry — they managed the correspondence and just came to me when a signature was needed."

Ayer Keroh, Melaka
"I came in expecting to be overwhelmed. Instead, the first meeting was just a calm conversation — they listened, explained what my options were, and said there was no hurry. That really helped. I eventually went ahead with will drafting and the process was smooth. I have since recommended them to my brother."

How particular matters were handled
These accounts describe the general shape of real matters. Details are simplified for privacy.
An estate without a will, four beneficiaries, one disputed property
The Situation
A father passed away intestate. His estate included a house, a piece of agricultural land, and savings across two banks. Four adult children had different ideas about what should happen to the property, and one sibling was living in the house.
How We Helped
We applied for letters of administration and explained to all four beneficiaries exactly what the Distribution Act 1958 provides. We held a family session at our office and helped the siblings agree on a practical arrangement for the house, which was then documented.
Outcome
Administration completed in approximately nine months. All four beneficiaries received their entitlements. The family agreed on a private arrangement for the house that all parties found workable.
"We thought it would take years and end in a dispute. It took less than a year and we are still on speaking terms."
A will prepared well in advance of any need
The Situation
A couple in their late fifties wanted to set their affairs in order — particularly to ensure their adult children and a grandchild with special needs were provided for according to their wishes rather than by default distribution rules.
How We Helped
We met twice over three weeks to understand their wishes in detail, explained the limitations and possibilities of a civil will, and drafted a document that addressed the grandchild's situation through a discretionary arrangement for the executor.
Outcome
Both wills drafted and signed within three weeks. The couple left feeling that their wishes were clearly recorded and that the document would hold up when needed. Starting cost: RM 195 per will.
"We did not realise how straightforward it could be. We had been putting it off for years."
